2019 SCGIS 22nd Annual Conference

Jul 15, 2019 to Jul 17, 2019, Asilomar Conference Center, Monterey CA

Pre-Conference workshops: Sunday July 14, 2019

Map Gallery

Every year we invite students and professionals to display maps and posters that visualize their work. You can bring your own, or you can submit your art to SCGIS, and one of our sponsors Esri will donate the cost of printing and shipping your poster to the conference. We’re also inviting digital maps and app submissions.

Share your work by submitting your maps or applications for the Map and App Gallery. The deadline to submit your project is June 10th, 2019.

Submission Guidelines

Use this online form to submit your map or app. If you need it printed for you, it must be submitted by June 10th, 2019 to display your work.  If you do not need it printed, please still fill out the form so we know how many posters and digital maps/apps to expect. (Uploading your file if you don’t need it printed is optional, but if uploaded, will be included in our conference proceedings.)

Digital Maps and Applications

Submission categories include the following:

  • Online map - any web based map
  • Story map - Story maps combine web maps with applications that incorporate text, multimedia, and interactive functions. Story maps inform, educate, entertain, and inspire.
  • User application - GIS applications and tools delivered via web browser, or developed for mobile platforms such as iPhone/iPad, Android or Windows Phone.

Printed Map Gallery Submissions

Put your work on display as a poster in the map gallery. One of our donors, Esri, has offered to print your poster for free if you submit your map by June 10th, 2019. It is not required to submit your map before the conference if you plan to print and bring it yourself, however, we would appreciate if you would still fill out the form so we know how many to expect (and be included in our proceedings should you upload your file).

All maps must meet the following criteria:

  • Landscape Orientation—36" width x 24" height
  • Portrait Orientation—24" width x 36" height
  • File size limit of 19 MB
  • Must be in .pdf format only (Include all fonts or convert to outlines.)

Remember to claim your poster when the Map Gallery closes; otherwise, the venue will discard it.
