Maps For Advocacy

Maps for advocacy speakers

Bring Your Advocacy Mapping Questions

Are you making great advocacy maps to share with SCGIS colleagues?  Would you like to improve your skills in making persuasive maps?  We will continue last year’s “Maps for Advocacy” theme exploring how to design maps to encourage people to care and to take conservation action.  This year’s session will include three speakers followed by a panel Q & A session.  Speakers are Ariel Schnee from The Public Lands History Center, Maianna Voge from GreenInfo Network and Charles Convis from Esri.  Bring your final or draft maps (hardcopy or digital) to share and bring your questions about how to effectively convey an advocacy message to inspire people to care and persuade them to act.
