Who is hosting this event? NY/NJ SCGIS chapter in partnership with Hunter College.
How much does attending cost? $20 for members, and $30 for non-members. Note that the afternoon lightning talks and poster sessions are free to students and we have volunteer options for students as well!
Can students get in for free? Yes! Limited volunteer spots are available which waive all fees. Email firstname.lastname@example.org with your volunteer availability. Volunteer responsibilities may include: set-up before the event, registration table, tear-down following the event. Limited spots are available.
Can I have more information about SCGIS and becoming a member? Yes! You can become a member at the conference, and learn more about the great organization here on the SCGIS website.
Is lunch provided? No, but we are providing breakfast and snacks and allowing 1 hour for lunch - there are many great options around Hunter and even a cafeteria at Hunter.
Can I get a refund if I can't attend the symposium? Planning a symposium is difficult and requires planning for the correct number of attendees. Our refund policy includes the following:
