Description 

The SCGIS chapter Bulgaria was founded in 2010. It consists of the informal community of SCGIS members from Bulgaria working in the fields of application GIS and remote sensing methods for conservation of natural heritage and resources and cultural heritage sites.

SCGIS Chapter Bulgaria has organized several events for popularising the SCGIS and the conservation thematic:

Third European SCGIS Conference “Geoinformation technologies for natural and cultural heritage conservation” , October 11-12, 2016, Sofia Bulgaria. The Third European SCGIS Conference is a joint initiative of the Society for Conservation GIS (SCGIS) Chapter Bulgaria, Society for Conservation GIS (SCGIS) Chapter Slovenia, ESRI Bulgaria, Space Research and Technology Institute – Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Anton Melik Geographical Institute of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts and Bulgarian Geographical Society /more information:https://www.conf2016.scgisbg.org/index.html
