SCGIS hopes to continue to foster the creation and expansion of domestic and international chapters to support its mission globally. The chapters provide a way to get to know other SCGIS colleagues living and working in a particular geographic region; share work and ideas; and socialize. Visit the chapter profiles below to learn more about a chapter near you. Check out our events page often for information on chapter meetings and events.
If you are interested in starting a chapter in your area, please contact us.
Scgis is developing an international guidebook to provide the guidelines, steps and resources needed to begin a conservation gis group in your area. It has just been released as a public draft and your feedback and comments to Charles Convis at firstname.lastname@example.org are invited. Besides the draft guidebook, a draft chapter leadership guide is also available for review. Please note that the domestic chapter guides and forms below were developed at an earlier stage in the process of the international guide. Following the public comment period on the international guidebook, the domestic chapter guidelines will be reviewed if necessary to ensure an appropriate level of consistency between SCGIS chapter and allied group guidelines worldwide.
